Flatlift Pop-Up Platinum TV Lift update

January 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

From my Squidoo lens on plasma lifts I received a message from Sacha Rissel that there are new reference pictures up on the site of FlatLift. Also there are now two movies so you can see how smooth the lift operates. So of course I did look at the site and check it out.

Since it is really nice I want to share these pictures here with you.

Woodcraft Nexus 21 TV Lift System

November 7th, 2006 · No Comments

nexus21tvlift Woodcraft Nexus 21 TV Lift System
Raise your flat-screen television from a cabinet at the touch of a button. With the Nexus 21 Lift System, build the nicest TV accessory available: the smoothest, quietest, safest and most reliable lift for your LCD and Plasma TV, cappuccino machine or mini bar – the possibilities are limitless.

Add style and elegance to your room while preserving space – the design of this TV hardware starts at “ground zero” with a 1/8″ steel plate that serves as the TV mount and attaches to the bottom of the cabinet. This allows for a very compact cabinet with almost the entire space dedicated to the LCD TV, and very little to house the lift mechanism.

It’s smooth and fast, taking less than 15 seconds to fully open or close, and it’s whisper quiet at less than 50 db. Slow start and slow stop software are installed to enhance smoothness, and anti-collision™ safety software is included.

Use this innovative Nexus 21 lift system in a pop up cabinet at the foot of the bed, in the family room, or any room including the kitchen. It also works well in tight quarters like an RV or boat.

Specifications:
Weight capacity is 180 lbs (81 kg). The lift has 26 1/2″ of vertical travel which accommodates most 42″ and some 45″ screens with speaker on the side. (If the speakers are on the bottom, you may be limited to a 32″ screen.) You will need to make sure the vertical dimension from the top of the TV to the bottom of the viewing area is less than 26 1/2″.

Determining cabinet size:
The lift system is 22″ high. The inside height of the cabinet should be as little as 23″ as long as the TV does not exceed this dimension. Otherwise, the height of the cabinet is dictated by the height of the TV. The lift and brackets are 5″ deep, so the TV with bracket requires approximately 9″ of depth. The width will depend on the width of the TV. A minimum of 1/2″ is recommended on either side of the TV.

Installation:
Installing the Nexus 21 lift system is easy and should take less than a half hour. The only tools required are an electric drill, wrench and level.

Components:
The system comes complete with an IR remote control; a hardwire up/down switch; lift column and control box; all necessary brackets and hardware, including extender brackets; and a wire management system with all wiring.

Hide plasma or LCD TV in bedroom – Summerlift Model # CL-1

    September 17th, 2006 · No Comments

The perfect lift to hide your plasma or LCD-lift in a cabinet at the end of the bed.
schrocksm Hide plasma or LCD TV in bedroom Summerlift Model # CL 1

Top 4 reasons why Summerlift is chosen over other lift mechanisms (according to Summerlift):

    • Silent,
    • Doesn’t Rack,
    • Better Quality, and
    • About 1/3 the Price of the Competition.

Summerlift equipped cabinetry products have twice been awarded
International Grand Prize at the World’s Trade Fair, both in 1996 & 1999.

Safety First – Throughout the Summerlift pages, they continually emphasize the importance of safety in design. For example, the cable they use is “rated” at 480 lbs.; but when fittings are added, reductions in usable loads should be expected. For TV lifts therefore, Summerlift de-rate each cable to 150 pound maximum loading.

Even more important are the safety considerations of “pinch-points” in your cabinetry design. There should be no possibility of a finger being caught when lifting or lowering. If there are children where a lift/lower device is used, extra attention needs to be given to device safety and security – - Things that move up and down at the touch of a button are fascinating to adults — and thrilling/tempting to kids!
endofbed Hide plasma or LCD TV in bedroom Summerlift Model # CL 1

Both the CL-1 model and the Standard Summerlift are ideal for foot of the bed style Pop-Up TV™ applications.
The Summerlift model you require will be determined by the dimensions and weight of the television.

12 volt Summerlifts operate for a guaranteed 10,000 cycles. This model has a load capability of up to 225 lbs., and may be combined into dual, triple and even “quad” drive unit configurations for heavier lifts (models CL-2, etc.)

The Summerlift Cable Lift Series has been developed, tested and proven in the lab and in the field. It reflects summerlifts’ in depth understanding of specialized requirements in widely varied applications, including Pop Up TV, computer work stations, raising and lowering of equipment, work surfaces, as well as managing lifting tasks indoors, outdoors, at sea, and even in the air.

Suitable for do-it-yourself as well as professional projects, the CL-1 provides economical, high torque, quiet, reliable, hoisting of medium weight loads with the benefits of safe, easy to control 12 volt power. Summerlift is used in the U.S. and abroad.

Like all of our Summerlift Products, the CL-1 model has the availability of our optional remote control. You can raise or lower from distances of up to 140 feet with precise control — for windows, TVs, pantries, bars, hatches, appliances, assisted living devices etc., etc., – - all at a low cost. The remote control may be ordered with the CL-1 OR, can be easily added later.

The LT-200 Series of motorized up/down lifts is typically used for lifting Plasma screens and LCD screens from cabinets. The remarkably stable operation of this rack and pinion lift provides smooth and sure travel.

As shown, this lift requires the use of the traditional “box within a box” cabinet design. An inner box sits upon our lift platform and raises up to reveal the TV. The Plasma is backmounted to the inside of the inner box using the TV manufacturer’s wall mount bracket.

Controls available include radio remote control, infrared remote control, and low voltage/contact closure control interface to tie-in to your home automation system.

Fake fireplace to hide LCD TV

    September 4th, 2006 · No Comments

lcd fireplace 1 Fake fireplace to hide LCD TVMounting an LCD TV above a fireplace? Or maybe hide your LCD TV behind a hearth. England-based Picture House has a patent-pending design for LCDs to rest behind a fireplace and rise at the press of a button.

The flames in the fireplace are not real but it hides 2kW of fan forced heat which will heat a good size room in approx 10 mins. Picture House claims that the heat does not affect the TV because “cool air is drawn in at the rear of the fire then heated as it is forced out the front. This means no heat is present around the back of the fire to affect the TV.”
